Terms of Use
Last updated 29 September 2026 · Applies to JomInvoice for iPhone and iPad
These terms cover your use of the JomInvoice app. They are written to be read, not to be intimidating — the short version is that the app is yours to use, your records are your responsibility, and JomInvoice is a billing tool rather than a professional adviser.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading or using JomInvoice you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. If you use the app on behalf of a business, you are confirming that you are entitled to accept these terms for that business.
2. Your licence to use the app
JomInvoice is licensed, not sold. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the licence to the app itself, because the app is distributed through the App Store. These terms add to it; where the two conflict on the licence of the app, Apple's agreement takes priority.
You may use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law says you may.
3. What it costs
JomInvoice is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscription and no advertising. If a future version introduces a paid feature, it will be clearly stated in the app and in the App Store listing before you would be charged, and nothing you already rely on would stop working without notice.
4. Your records are yours
Everything you enter — your customers, invoices, quotes, jobs, expenses, payments and attachments — belongs to you. We claim no rights over it. Because it is stored on your device and never sent to us, you retain complete control of it and complete responsibility for it.
In particular, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your own backups. Exports are available in Settings; a lost or reset device without a backup means the data is gone, and we cannot recover it because we never had it.
- The accuracy of your invoices, quotes, receipts and tax figures. The app does arithmetic and applies the tax settings you choose; it does not audit them.
- Who you send documents to. When you share an invoice, the recipient, the channel and the wording are all your choices.
- Complying with the law that applies to your business, including invoicing, tax, record keeping and data protection obligations.
5. Not professional advice
JomInvoice is a billing and record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice, and nothing it displays or calculates should be relied on as such. Tax rules depend on your circumstances and change; the app applies the settings you give it. Speak to a qualified professional about your own obligations. This is why the app does not file anything for you and does not claim to.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app:
- to create invoices, quotes or receipts that are false or misleading, or that impersonate a business you do not represent;
- to send messages to people who have not agreed to receive them, or in a way that breaks anti-spam or marketing law;
- to break any law, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- in a way that attempts to interfere with the app's normal operation or to extract its source code.
7. Availability and changes to the app
We may update, change or discontinue features of the app, and the app may require a minimum version of iOS and of the device hardware. We do not promise that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device. Some parts of the app depend on services provided by Apple, such as the share sheet and document export, and their behaviour is outside our control.
8. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or that it will produce figures suitable for any particular filing or reporting purpose.
9. Limiting our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app. This includes a loss of records resulting from a lost, damaged, reset or replaced device, from a failed or missing backup, or from deleting the app.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app or the minimum amount the applicable law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Apple's role
You and we acknowledge that these terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property is our responsibility, not Apple's.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11. Ending this agreement
You may end these terms at any time by deleting the app. We may end them if you materially breach them. Because your data is on your device and not with us, ending these terms has no effect on records you have already exported or sent. Export anything you want to keep before deleting the app.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example, if the app gains a feature that needs new wording. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. If a change is significant, it will be made clear before it applies to you. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer of JomInvoice is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
