Support
JomInvoice has no account and no server, so there is nothing to sign into and nothing to recover. Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, email us.
It helps if you tell us your device and iOS version, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. The version is at the bottom of Settings. Screenshots are very welcome. We read everything, though we can't promise a reply to every message.
Getting started
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up in JomInvoice and nothing to remember. The app never asks for an email address or a password, and it works with no network connection at all.
How do I write my first invoice?
An invoice has to be addressed to someone, so a customer comes first:
- Tap Create on the Home tab, then New Customer.
- Give it a name and a save, then tap Create again and choose New Invoice.
- Add lines, check the total, and share the PDF.
If you bill for the same services repeatedly, use New Service under Create first. After that a line is two taps instead of a form.
What else can I create?
Create offers New Invoice, New Quote, New Customer, New Job, New Expense, Record Payment, New Service and New Schedule.
Can I set my own business details, logo and colours?
Yes, under Settings. Your business name, address, registration number, bank and DuitNow details, and your logo all appear on the documents you send. There are nine invoice templates to choose from, and the exported PDF is rendered at document quality rather than as a screenshot of the screen.
Quotes, invoices and getting paid
How do I turn a quote into an invoice?
Open the quote and mark it accepted once the customer agrees, then convert it. The lines come across without retyping, and the totals are added up by the same code on both sides, so they cannot drift apart.
Does JomInvoice charge SST for me?
It applies the tax; it does not decide whether you owe it. You can set 8% on top of the price or mark your prices as already including tax, and per-line or document-wide, depending on how you bill. Whether you are registered and what rate applies to you is a question for your accountant, not for this app.
How do I record a payment?
Use Create › Record Payment, or open the invoice and record it from there. Cash, bank transfer, DuitNow, card and others are supported, and each payment can produce a receipt you can send.
Do recurring schedules send invoices on their own?
No. A schedule prepares a draft invoice on the day it falls due, which you then review and send yourself. Nothing is ever emailed to a customer by the app.
Will it chase a customer for me?
No, and it never contacts anyone. Reminders are composed as a PDF or as text and handed to the standard iOS share sheet. You choose the recipient and you press send. JomInvoice itself has no messaging of any kind.
What is a statement?
A statement lists everything one customer owes and has paid over a period. Open the customer and choose Statement. It is useful at the end of a month, or before you have to make an awkward phone call.
Your data
Where are my invoices kept?
On your device. Customers, invoices, quotes, jobs, expenses, payments and any attachments live in local storage, and the app is fully usable in a basement with no signal. Nothing is uploaded to us, because there is nothing of ours to upload it to.
How do I back up or export everything?
Settings → your data section:
- Export everything as CSV — for a spreadsheet
- Export everything as JSON — a complete copy, for keeping or moving
- Export a summary PDF — a human-readable overview
Because the data lives only on the device, a backup is worth taking. If you lose or reset the device without one, the data is gone and nobody can recover it for you — not us, because we never had it.
How do I erase everything and start over?
In Settings, under the data section, choose the erase option. It wipes the store on the device and returns the app to its first-run state. It cannot be undone, so the app asks first.
Does deleting the app delete my data?
Yes. Deleting JomInvoice removes its local store with it. Export first if you want to keep anything.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. This build stores everything on your device and has no cloud sync, so there is no figure of yours on any server. The app contains no analytics service, no advertising and no third-party code. See the privacy policy for the full account.
Privacy and security
Can I lock the app?
Yes. Settings → Privacy → Require Face ID (or Touch ID, or your passcode, depending on the device). With it on, the app asks before it opens, so customer names and amounts stay private if someone else picks up your phone.
Why does it ask for camera and photo access?
The camera is used to photograph a receipt for an expense, and to attach a photo to a job. Photo access is for choosing your business logo and for saving an exported PDF if you ask it to. The receipt text is read on your device, and the images stay on your device.
Why does it ask to send me notifications?
Only if you allow it, and only for reminders you have set up yourself, such as an overdue invoice. Declining changes nothing else about how the app works.
Purchases and billing
What does JomInvoice cost?
Nothing. It is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscription and no advertising. There is no trial that expires and no feature held back behind a paywall.
I was charged for something — who do I ask?
JomInvoice does not sell anything, so any charge you see would be from Apple rather than from us. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Problems
A PDF is not appearing in my Files or Mail.
Exported documents go through the standard iOS share sheet, so where they land depends on what you choose there — Files, Mail, Messages, a printer, or another app. If the share sheet looks empty, the document may still be being prepared; try again in a moment.
The app looks wrong on my iPad or with larger text.
JomInvoice is built for iPhone and iPad and follows your Dynamic Type and dark mode settings. If something is unreadable at a particular text size, email a screenshot and we will fix it.
Something is genuinely broken and I cannot get my data out.
Email us before you delete the app — deleting it removes the only copy. Tell us the version from the bottom of Settings and what you were doing when it went wrong.
